Poppy came to Margate during the town's creative revival and has stayed for over a decade, drawn to the extraordinary light that bounces off the sea and the wide, flat coastal land. She works in gouache, a medium she chose for its opacity and speed, qualities that allow her to work fluidly outdoors and to make decisive colour decisions back in the studio. Her paintings range from intimate A4 works made on the beach to large studio canvases developed from sketches and memory. Poppy exhibits with the Modern British Art Fair and has work in numerous private collections in South East England and beyond.
