Born in Budapest and based in Bethnal Green since 2015, Lena Kovacs works at the intersection of photography, collage, and mixed media. Her process begins with photographed textures and surfaces, peeling paint, fabric, water, rust, which she then layers, manipulates, and hand-paints to create vibrant abstract compositions. Each piece is a unique original, making her work particularly sought after by collectors. Lena studied Fine Art at the Slade School and was artist-in-residence at Gasworks in 2023. Her work has been shown at Whitechapel Gallery, The Approach, and Frieze London. She is passionate about art in hospitality spaces and has created bespoke commissions for restaurants and boutique hotels.
